OBS GUIDE

Go from parameters to a verified broadcast

Prepare the eligible account, current server address and key, then build a scene and check the sound. Use the matching built-in OBS instance in TKLive and verify the result from the audience side.

Match the parameters to the account

Confirm the required streaming permission and obtain parameters for the current session. In OBS, select the appropriate service or custom server and enter the address and key in their respective fields. Interface wording can vary by version.

  • Avoid unverified old keys.
  • Redact credentials before sharing setup screenshots.

Build the picture and check the sound

Add the required sources, choose the intended portrait or landscape layout, and ensure the subject is visible. Test microphone and media audio separately. Watch for duplicate capture and speaker feedback; meters alone do not prove the final sound is correct.

  • Begin with a simple scene.
  • Set output quality according to content, hardware and bandwidth.

Run a short end-to-end test

Check connection status, encoding load and dropped frames, then confirm the actual LIVE picture and sound. Add further instances only after the first works. Stop every broadcast explicitly when finished.

Frequently asked questions

Does a successful OBS connection prove everything works?

No. Verify the actual account, picture, orientation and sound in the LIVE output.

What bitrate should I use?

Choose according to current platform requirements, output format and upload capacity, then adjust based on a real test.
